Plastic and reconstructive surgery treats many kinds of disease of skin and soft tissue. The treatments and researches are performed for traumas, burns, skin and soft tissue tumors, maxillofacial surgeries, congenital abnormalities, and etc. Treatment teams are formed with other departments if needed.

Research is to investigate questions arose in the clinical settings and the goal is to apply the results to a clinical situation.

1) Ulcer healing

• ・development of cover material for trauma
• ・relationship with drugs and carriers and promotion of epithelialization
• ・bacterial contamination and healing
• ・mechanisms of pressure sores

2) Healing of skin flap

• ・effects of drugs on flap survivals
• ・effects of platelet rich plasma on flap survivals
• ・association of trauma environment and flap survivals

3) Scars and keloid

• ・environment and therapeutic effects
• ・mechanisms of occurrence

1) Cartilage regeneration

• ・regenerative ability of the cartilage membrane

2) Changes in transplanted cartilage

• ・absorption and regeneration
• ・morphological changes over time

3) Development of efficient skin grafting methods
