Introduction

The mission of our department is contribution to well-developed medical care of the community. The promotion of our studies and clinical practice on important diseases in the Mutsu Shimokita area gives life to the society that people are healthy and spiritually rich.

Current Research Topics

• ★liver diseases
  ・Support for gastrointestinal cancer chemotherapy at Mutsu General Hospital
  ・Educational activities for the general public on how to cope with cancer
  ・Prognostic analysis of patients with malignant lymphoma in the Shimokita regionSupport of internal medical care in Mutsu General Hospital.
• ★Renal diseases
  ・Development for chronic kidney disease management in the Mutsu/Shimokita region: early detection and educational programs for the public and medical professionals
  ・Epidemiology of polypharmacy in general population : the Iwaki Health Promotion Project.
  ・Educational programs for public and medical professionals to raise awareness about chronic kidney disease.

  ・Analysis of the sarcopenia/frail prevalence in patients with diabetes in the Mutsu and Shimokita area
  ・Support for establishing a diabetes care system at Mutsu general hospital
• ★Orthopedic surgery
  ・Improvement of diagnostic imaging accuracy for bone and soft tissue tumors in remote areas via a web conference system.
• ★Urological diseases
  ・Development and practice of hemodialysis remote management system with medical information security
  ・Development of an AI-based renal anemia management system
