1 April 1944 Aomori Medical School was established
10 March 1947 Aomori Medical School moved to Hirosaki city
10 February 1948 Hirosaki Medical College was established
31 May 1949 Aomori Medical School and Hirosaki Medical College were incorporated in accordance with the National School Establishment Law
31 May 1951 Aomori medical college was closed
1 April 1951 The School of Medicine was opened

Internal medicine I, Internal medicine II, Pediatrics, Psychiatry, Surgery I, Surgery II, Orthopedics, Dermatology&Urology, Opthalmology, Otolaryngology, Obstetrics&Gynecology, Radiology

1 April 1953 The department of Physiology was separated into Physiology I and Physiology II. (11 basic departments)

1 April 1999 The department of Clinical Pharmacology was established.(21 clinical departments)
New Health Administration Center was established. (Molecular Pathophysiology section, Cerebrovascular Pathophysiology section, Functional Recovery section, Neuropathic section, Cellular Engineering section)(Former Health Administration Center was abolished.)
1 April 2003 The department of Emergency was established.(22 clinical departments)
1 April 2004 Hirosaki University School of Medicine was established accordance with the National School Establishment Law.
Graduate School of Medicine revised from five majors (Physiology, Pathology, Social Medicine, Internal Medicine and Surgery) to one major (Medicine).
31 May 2005 The Engineering section of the New Health Administration Center was abolished.
1 April 2005 The department of Hygiene and Public Health were combined into the department of Social Medicine. (13 basic departments)
Highly-advanced medical research center was established.
Graduate School of Medicine was revised to include health sciences.
The Faculty affairs were divided into the Faculty affairs and University Hospital affairs.
1 October 2006 The department of Microbiology and Parasitology were combined into the department of Microbiology & Immunology. (12 basic departments)
1 February 2007 The department of Medical Oncology was established. (23 clinical departments)
1 April 2007 The Faculty affairs were divided into the Medical Faculty affairs and the Health Sciences Faculty affairs.
