The Association of University Anesthesiologists membership by election

I have recently been elected as an active member of the Association of University Anesthesiologists (AUA) by AUA Council. I am 8th AUA member by election from Japan with honor, and it has been more than 20 years since the last Japanese anesthesiologist was elected. When Professor Oyama, the first Professor of our department was elected 24 years ago, we were so happy that a cerebration was held. As I believe that this election could be obtained under the foundation that Professor Oyama (1st Professor) and Professor Matsuki (2nd Professor) established excellent education and research system in our department, I sincerely thank them. Nowadays, most research activity can easily be assessed via Internet. So, if you produce estimable achievement even in a small local city such as Hirosaki, you may be rated extremely excellent by the World. I believe that this election have proved the hypothesis. So, you do not have to move from Hirosaki to the Metropolitan area for obtaining excellent achievement. I hope that this honorable election may give some impact on our medical students to stay in our University after graduation.
