Research Aims
To develop less invasive and durable cardiothoracic operative procedure
To make patients and their families happy through surgical therapy
Current Research Topics
- Major research topics
-
- To achieve less invasive surgery for the patient with complex severe comorbidities in cardiothoracic surgery, we are focusing on hemodynamics during the cardiopulmonary bypass, cardioprotection, mechanism of calcification on the valve and inventing new surgical devices for minimally invasive cardiothoracic surgery.
- Research Topics in Cardiovascular Surgery Group
-
- ● Cardioprotection during cardiac surgery
- ● Prevention of stroke, especially atheroembolic stroke, in thoracic aortic surgery
- ● Use of virtual reality for the training of surgical skill
- ● Management of coagulopathy after cardiac surgery
- ● Venous thromboembolism after operation: prevention, diagnosis and management to critically ill patients
- ● Computed simulation of flow dynamics in cardiovascular system
- ● Vascular and valvular calcification: molecular biology of valvular calcification and pharmacological intervention
- Research Topics in General Thoracic Surgery Group
-
- ● Biomarker of lung cancer: what is the most efficacious biomarker to detect recurrence after surgery of lung cancer
- ● Invention of artificial pleura
- ● Invention of surgical device for robot assist minimally invasive lung surgery
- ● Prevention of air leak after resection of the fragile lung
