The Department of Medical Informatics is engaged in the construction and enhancement of core healthcare information systems, encompassing clinical practice, hospital management and operations, and security measures. Additionally, the department focuses on developing and implementing supplementary functionalities that facilitate the digital transformation (Dx) of clinical services and patient support. Our work extends to the secondary use of medical information, including the design and statistical analysis of clinical research, and research on cancer prevention strategies through the analysis of cancer registry data and cancer screening data. Moreover, as part of our commitment to regional healthcare support, we are actively involved in the implementation of telemedicine systems between core and community hospitals within the prefecture and our main hospital.
Activities (occupational)
- 1. Optimization of information transmission and sharing functionalities within core healthcare information systems.
- 2. In-house development of supplementary medical information systems for digital transformation (Dx), including clinical and patient support.
- 3. In-house development of applications utilizing data extracted from medical information systems, such as diagnostic support through the application of artificial intelligence.
- 4. Development and implementation support for systems enabling the secure remote operation of electronic medical records in regional hospitals (closed systems).
- 5. Design and statistical analysis of clinical research, along with the provision of related support.
