Outline

Department of Stroke and Cerebrovascular Medicine is an endow department newly established in 2018. We collaborate with the Department of Cardiology and Nephrology in order to teach stroke to medical students, treat patients, and study mechanism and pathophysiology of stroke and vascular diseases.

Current Research Topics

1. Development of treatment focusing on the study of the pathological condition and prevention of recurrence and progression of cerebral arteriosclerosis
2. Identification of factors to affect severity of stroke and establishment of a stroke risk management
3. Management of blood pressure to prevent the recurrence of stroke and establishment of blood pressure management in acute phase treatment
4. Development of optimal anticoagulation therapy for prevention of cardioembolic stroke in patients with atrial fibrillation
